New home sales rebound in a big way thanks to one builder in particular.

Overall new home net sales for the second week in December (ending 12/12) more than doubled from the previous week and was the highest total since October.  We also reported our lowest cancellation rate since late September.  For all of the specifics, and to track the Southern Nevada new home segment in the easiest and most affordable way possible subscribe to our Weekly Traffic & Sales Watch

Touchstone Living was a major reason for the robust sales total, reporting 53 net sales across their three active projects.  If we remove them from the results, the average net sales per subdivision number drops from an impressive 1.2 to 1.0 (still above average).  Nearly 60 percent of builders reported more than 1 sale per community on average.  Besides Touchstone (17.7), Shea Homes (3.5), and Harmony Homes (1.8) were the top performers using this metric.

We reported three new communities this past week.  Copper Bay by DR Horton reported their first four sales at the 44 lot project in the southwest, KB Home opened a new phase of their "Groves" townhome line in Inspirada, and Richmond American Homes debuted "Bel Canto" in Cadence
